Dear IC Families,

Catholic Schools Week was a first rate success. Thank you to everyone that participated, volunteered, donated and visited. Our teachers were happy to showcase our students’ hard work. The 2015-2016 school year has been extremely positive for our students. We are pleased to offer Spanish, Meet the Masters art program, PE, afterschool sports, Academic Decathlon and more. Our Christmas program was delightful and we look forward to our Talent Show later this Spring.  Our students have the opportunity to attend a Science enrichment class, join the Scouts or be tutored.  We have come a long way this year with our limited income and enrollment.  Our spirit is high as we begin making plans for enrollment next year.  As I have shared YOU are our best advertisers. Please help us to continue to increase our enrollment. Our community is very unique at Immaculate Conception School and people want to be part of this. Invite your friends and family to schedule a tour and join us as we continue to soar to new heights.

Enclosed in the family envelope is the CEF form for financial assistance. All families that receive tuition assistance are required to submit this form.

Planning for the 2016-2017 school year has already begun.  To benefit our loyal families that are committed and returning, we will keep tuition and fees the same as this past year as long as you register and pay the $250 registration fee by March 24, 2016. After March 24th, the tuition and fees will increase.

The cost to educate each student is much more than what we are charging as tuition. To subsidize our expenses we heavily rely on all our fundraisers large and small. Our Monte Carlo Night promises to be a great night of entertainment and will directly benefit our school. ALL families are required to participate by buying the raffle tickets and admission tickets. Do not delay to purchase tickets, as the price will increase at the door. It’s really going to be a fun night.  Donations and sponsorships welcome.

Earn service hours for your contributions.  For every $25.00 of merchandise/gift card donated, earn one service hour. SAVE THE DATE JUNE 10th.   All parents that go above and beyond the required service hours by completing 60+ hours will be invited to our Parent Appreciation Dinner Dance.

Each family is required to provide service hours as part of the school contract. There are numerous ways for parents to fulfill this obligation. You may serve on committees, help with events, donate items, and help in the classroom. Each time you complete service, please fill out service hour forms available in the office. All the parents that surpass the required service hours will be honored at the Parent Appreciation Dinner.  All those that fall short will be billed at $25.00 for each uncompleted hour. In order to have successful events, we need ALL our families to donate time, talent and treasure.

We also have a series of optional mini fundraisers over the next few months.  We know people love to eat, so what easier way to help the school than to eat at a local restaurant that will donate back to our school.

  • Sunday Feb. 21 meet us at Cabreras (1856 E. Huntington Dr.) for brunch after our 10:00AM Monthly Family Mass
  • March 3  Blaze Pizza (108 W. Foothill Blvd)
  • March 11  Something Healthy (1014 S. Shamrock)

Grades 1-8 will attend a field trip to the California Science Center this Friday. All permission slips and fees must be submitted by now. Field trips are an opportunity to enrich classroom learning. It allows our students to explore instruction on a deeper level.  School continues as usual for TK/K.  There will be no pizza lunch this Friday. Please provide your children with lunch.

Chaperones please follow the guidelines established by faculty. For the safety of our students we are very specific on what is allowed.

Spring Boutique

We will be hosting our next boutique on March 13. If you are a vendor or would like to be part of the boutique, let me know and we will forward you more information.

Snack Stand @ IC

We sell a variety of snacks and drinks at morning recess and lunch from $.50 – $1. We also sell fruit juice bars at lunch for $1.50.

PRAYER CORNER

As we enter the season of Lent, I will be including prayers and reflections that we can share with our families. Prayer, reflection, almsgiving and fasting are key to our faith and a beautiful opportunity to increase our devotion.

“Be kind and merciful. Let no one ever come to you without coming away better and happier.”   Mother Teresa of Calcutta
